Scotland’s Tam McCourt Captures ISKA World Featherweight Muay Thai Title During Historic 20th Anniversary Event
POWER of SCOTLAND celebrated a major milestone on May 16th, 2026, as promoter Gary O’Brien presented the organization’s 40th event in honor of its 20th anniversary at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley, Scotland.
The landmark evening was headlined by an ISKA World Championship Muay Thai clash between hometown favorite Tam McCourt of Scotland and Morocco’s Ossama Bouchiba for the vacant ISKA World Featherweight Muay Thai title at 57kg.
After a hard-fought and highly technical championship battle, McCourt earned a unanimous decision victory in front of an energized Scottish crowd, officially capturing the ISKA World title and adding another major achievement to his Muay Thai career.
The championship bout showcased high-level Muay Thai action throughout all rounds, with McCourt using sharp combinations, composure, and ring control to overcome the dangerous Moroccan challenger. Bouchiba delivered a strong performance of his own, creating several intense exchanges and pushing the pace during the contest, but the judges ultimately favored McCourt’s cleaner scoring and consistent pressure.
The victory marked a historic moment not only for McCourt, but also for POWER of SCOTLAND, which has become one of the United Kingdom’s longest-running and most respected Muay Thai promotions over the past two decades.
The 20th anniversary edition brought together fighters, coaches, officials, and supporters from across the combat sports community, creating a memorable atmosphere worthy of the occasion. With a packed venue and a world title main event delivering on expectations, POWER of SCOTLAND 40 successfully celebrated its legacy while continuing to strengthen Scotland’s presence on the international Muay Thai stage.
