Maximus Bejenuță Edges Jacob Charnock in Thrilling World Title Battle
CHISINAU, MOLDOVA – A memorable night of championship kickboxing unfolded on June 27, 2026, as Garuda Absolute Leadership Association presented MAYOR’S CUP Vol. VI at the Orange Stadium, featuring an exciting ISKA World Lightweight Kickboxing Championship contest.
In the evening’s main event, hometown favorite Maximus Bejenuță (Moldova) defeated Jacob Charnock (England) by split decision to capture the ISKA World Lightweight Kickboxing title (61 kg).
The world championship bout delivered the high-level action expected from two elite competitors, with both athletes producing a competitive contest from the opening bell. Charnock, already recognized as an ISKA World Muay Thai Champion, challenged for kickboxing world honors, while Bejenuță sought to claim the biggest victory of his career in front of his home supporters.
After five closely contested rounds, the judges returned scorecards of 46-48, 49-46, and 49-46, awarding Bejenuță the split decision victory and the prestigious ISKA world championship belt.
