Jongsanan Fairtex was inducted into the ISKA Hall of Fame

This past Saturday night, in front of a capacity crowd of cheering fans at San Jose’s Tech CU arena, Jongsanan Fairtex was inducted into the ISKA Hall of Fame. It was a feature presentation at FIGHT NIGHT III presented just before Cris Cyborg entered the ring for her Bay Area boxing debut. The crowd was treated to a highlight reel showing some of Jongsanan’s greatest ring moments, while the ring announcer voiced the video with the following:

“From his humble beginnings in the Chaiyaphum province of

Thailand, where he began his training at age 11, to becoming

LUMPINI STADIUM Champion in two different weight divisions, this

extraordinary fighter’s skills and impact on his sport is simple…,

legendary.

In 1998, he graced the US to continue his fighting career and earned both the ISKA Intercontinental and ISKA World Titles in a manner that influenced and inspired a whole new generation of Muay Thai enthusiasts.

Ladies and Gentlemen, ISKA State Director, Anthony Quesada, ISKA

President, Cory Schafer and Promoter Scott Coker are in the ring to

recognize a global icon of the sport and a Bay Area Hero.

It is with great pride that ISKA honors the career and contributions of “The Woodenman”, Jongsanan Fairtex and welcomes him to our inaugural class of “LEGENDARY CHAMPIONS”, in the ISKA Modern Hall of Fame.”

The moment was electric as Jongsanan responded to the crowd with appreciation and humility, thanking everyone.
