ISKA Proud to Support The Fight Against Suicide
Combat Sports Community Joins a Student-Led Mission of Awareness, Prevention and Hope
ISKA is honored to support The Fight Against Suicide (TFAS), a growing student-led initiative dedicated to saving lives through awareness, prevention and hope.
Born from tragedy following the loss of Sam Asbury in 2020, The Fight Against Suicide has transformed grief into action. What began as a single boxing event in Athens, Georgia, in 2021 has developed into a nationwide movement focused on giving college students practical tools, support and resources to strengthen mental resilience and recognize when someone may need help.
Through TFAS Fight Week, students are connected with suicide-prevention education, professional counseling resources, QPR prevention training, mentorship and campus events designed to create meaningful conversations around mental health.
According to TFAS materials, the initiative has already made a significant impact: more than $2 million raised for mental-health resources, 20,000 students reached nationwide, 550+ people QPR trained, 100+ students connected to counseling and 225+ student leaders, volunteers and interns involved across 15 campuses.
The movement continues in 2026 with its 6th Annual Fight at UGA, scheduled for October 2 at Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia, alongside additional Fight Against Suicide events reaching campuses in several states.
ISKA is extremely proud to sanction and supervise TFAS events, supporting an organization that uses the spirit and community of combat sports for a purpose extending far beyond competition.
Every fight matters. Every conversation matters. Every life matters.
