Tenshin Knocks Out Blanco to Capture ISKA World Featherweight Title

ISKA Japan

RIZIN 16

Kobe, Japan 2nd June 2019 The main event on RIZIN 16 was an ISKA World title fight featuring Japanese star Tenshin Nakusawa against Argentina’s Martin Blanco. Both men hold ISKA titles at Bantamweight but stepped up to fight for the vacant Featherweight title at a sold out World Hall in Kobe. This was the first ISKA title match contested under ABC Unified Rules of Kickboxing.

The opening round was the usual cautious range-finding process with no meaningful attacks. In the second round, Tenshin landed a heavy middle kick dropping Blanco for an eight count. Tenshin tried to finish with his trademark cartwheel kick that didn’t connect. He went back to the body with a short stabbing knee, dropping Blanco again who bravely beat the count. Tenshin stepped in with another knee to the body sending Blanco down for the third and final time – another KO victory for the new ISKA World Featherweight Kickboxing Champion. RIZIN 16 was broadcast live across Japan by Fuji TV.
