On March 25, 2022, in fierce battles with the Russian occupiers for the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, ISKA Gold Medalist, Senior Lieutenant Maxim “Piston” Kagal was killed in an air strike.
On this day, Ukraine lost a courageous patriot and defender and high-class athlete. Maxim Kagal was posthumously awarded the title of “Hero of Ukraine”.
He started kickboxing in 2008 in the sports club “GERMES” (Kremenchuk). In 2014, Maxim “Piston” Kagal, as part of the National Kickboxing Team of ISKA Ukraine won gold and bronze medals at the ISKA AMA Worlds Championships, which was held in Lloret De Mar , Costa Brava, Spain
