TULSA, Okla. – In three weeks Xtreme Fight Night 7 takes center ring in Tulsa. Promoter Dale “Apollo” Cook has brought in luminaries from the fight game such as Sugar Ray Leonard, Chuck Liddell and Bill Goldberg. The bar has been raised. Current undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jonny “Bones” Jones will be the celebrity guest.

Jones is coming off an impressive title defense at UFC 145 in Atlanta over his nemesis Rashad Evans. He will be on hand to witness what is shaping up to be another incredible night of MMA, kickboxing and boxing action inside the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa.

Five championship bouts highlight the 14-fight card.

Local kickboxing star Randy “Boom Boom” Blake faces his stiffest competition to date. ISKA world class kickboxer Mike “Lightning” Sheppard battles Blake for the World Heavyweight Championship. Sheppard is a three-time world kickboxing champ coming off an impressive victory in Queensland, Australia. Blake is coming off a string of highlight reel TKOs and looks to continue his undefeated streak. This marks the first time an Oklahoman fought for a world title since Cook retired in 1994.

The 155-pound XFL belt is up for grabs when Jon Carson tries to exact revenge against the champ JC Cottrell. These warriors put on a thrilling back-and-forth battle in December of 2010. Cottrell is on an eight-fight win streak and is on the cusp of cracking the national stage. Carson, under the tutelage of Strikeforce Lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez (who will be in Carson’s corner) has improved leaps and bounds since their last contest. The local MMA community anticipates another epic clash.

Also up for grabs is the XFL Light Heavyweight title. Champion Myron Dennis returns to Tulsa to defend his belt against challenger Matt Foster. A Kansas native, Foster recently called out all Oklahoma fighters. Dennis, who trains out of Oklahoma City, quickly answered the bell.

Andrew Todhunter competes for the vacant 185-pound title against Rico Cato. Todhunter is developing a huge following in T-Town. His exciting style electrifies the crowd every time.

Tulsa rising star and middleweight sensation Trey Houston returns to the Joint. The 9-0 fighter is coming off a submission victory in Bellator FC. His non-exclusive deal with the national promotion allows him to return to Tulsa and “WOW” his local friends and family on his home turf.

The stacked card also features crowd favorites such as Codale Ford, Jared Rouse, Bogey Blunt, Chris Barnes, TJ Arrington and female combatant Kathina Caton.

Tickets are going fast. Do not get turned away at the box office on Friday, June 1 for this sure-to-be sold out event.

Stay tuned for the fight card.
